Since Artscape began as a pilot project in 2004 we have built a mentoring and training strand into our programme of work to support people define themselves by their status as artists rather than by their illness.
As part of this strand of work we try to help Oxford Health staff to work in collaboration with individuals on projects that offer insight and reflective practice while also facilitate training or project delivery that reaches out to inform community partners about mental health awareness.
As part of our work to date we are currently supporting up to five people on their own journeys to participate and develop their own creative practice. Among these individuals are writers, graphic designers, performance artists and painters.
